paceval. and Python
October 2024
We have released a new version 4.25.4 of our package paceval with Python – the Mathematical Engine as a Service (e.g. for multi-party computations) on PyPI.
The Python Package Index (PyPI) is a repository of software for the Python programming language.
You can easily install the package with the command “pip install paceval”.
The API uses our free paceval server but can also access your own servers that use the free paceval Docker Service, too.

paceval-Software Development Kit 4.25
August 2024
With the new paceval. Software Development Kit 4.25, we have updated the APPLE and RISC-V libraries and improved overall performance. The paceval. library for APPLE silicon (M1, M2 and M3) is now the fastest mathematical engine available.
In addition, we have enabled unlimited use of multicore systems, e.g. 144 cores on Intel’s Xeon, 128 cores on AMD’s Epyc, 192 cores on ARM Ampere’s Altra or higher.
You can download the installer for Windows here:

paceval on a USB stick - the Mathematical Engine as a Service on a very small efficient hardware system
June 2024
Anyone who has ever wanted to make use cases with artificial intelligence available to customers or the general public knows the problem: the cost of running the service continuously via a hyperscaler, for example, and that the availability of the use case also recoups these costs.
The German startup paceval has now published a milestone in overcoming this fundamental problem. Among other things, paceval has presented a solution with which its mathematical engine makes artificial intelligence locally available to everyone with less than 1 watt. The mathematical engine, which can also be used for complex mathematical functions, scales from a solution for private or public servers to the smallest and most efficient devices such as simple USB sticks with ARM or RISC-V processors. These can then be used for local intelligence in kitchen appliances or cars and do not require an internet connection.

AI research and innovation
January 2024
We invented a method to export neural networks into mathematical functions. This is helpful to better understand the functioning of a neural network and to compare, evaluate, optimize and certify neural networks according to regulatory requirements. The method also offers the possibility to perform neural network inference with paceval. on any hardware, especially without GPUs.
This saves significant costs for the infrastructure for operating artificial intelligence and reduces the times for regulatory approval of your algorithms in accordance with legal requirements.

Sustainable hardware development
December 2023
We have developed a new type of mathematical coprocessor for the Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation SPRIND, which performs mathematical calculations more efficiently on any hardware (e.g. APPLE Silicon, INTEL/AMD, ARM, RISC-V, FPGA or ASIC).
Studies by an independent computer science institute have shown that the inference of neural networks based on this coprocessor can be carried out more than 100 times more energy-efficiently with paceval. compared to GPUs.

paceval. version 4.24
June 2023 - September 2023
After a busy but exciting time we have released the new version of the paceval. Software Development Kit including cloud support and RISC-V. For partners we have created customized solutions for all operating systems incl. Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android plus specific microcontrollers and processors like Atmel, TI, ARM, ASICs and FPGAs.

Eclipse Diafanis - the Mathematical Engine as a Service
October 2022
This Mathematical Engine as a Service with paceval. provides a powerful and fast remote math coprocessor service for connected devices or so-called IoT solutions. You can easily get the solution with Docker and run it on any Linux server (x64 or ARM64, incl. APPLE silicon). Equipped with a simple interface, it will allow battery-powered devices to perform complex mathematical operations remotely and very quickly, avoiding increasing power consumption of the device itself.

Math, Math Everywhere!
October 2015
In this excerpt published by the Discover Magazine from his book, Max Tegmark proposes that our reality isn’t just described by mathematics, it is mathematics. “The idea that everything is, in some sense, mathematical goes back at least to the Pythagoreans of ancient Greece and has spawned centuries of discussion among physicists and philosophers. In the 17th century, Galileo famously stated that our universe is a “grand book” written in the language of mathematics. More recently, the Nobel laureate Eugene Wigner argued in the 1960s that “the unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics in the natural sciences demanded an explanation.”
